Forthcoming Training Courses

We are widely recognised as being the leading UK environmental consultancy on terrestrial wind energy and birds. Our team’s expertise is unrivalled. The edge we enjoy over others in our field is based on a strong foundation in non-commercial and academic research having altogether published over 200 peer reviewed papers (Click here to view the list of publications by our staff). These skills and our integrity in critical evaluation are the bases for our high standard of reporting. We deliver high quality, objective research, assessments and monitoring for commercial projects of all sizes, such as windfarms, hydro-electric schemes, electrical grid connectors, forestry developments, and quarry and road construction. Protocols for Environmental Impact Assessments developed by us and our co-operators have been used to inform the industry’s Best Practice Guidelines and as a result, our products are seen as authoritative.

Previously, in addition to our in-house staff training, we have provided external training when others have approached us to request our expertise. This has included training courses for government employees, university students, NGO staff and commercial consultants from countries as diverse as North America, Scotland, Oman, Cambodia, Spain, Northern Ireland and Norway.

Due to popular demand, in 2009 we will be providing regular commercial training courses as part of our suite of environmental services, to help raise the standard of reporting both in the UK and overseas. Initially these will focus on Best Practice Environmental Impact Assessments for both field workers and project managers, and Collision Risk Modelling for those who need to undertake this type of analysis in their reporting. With the current surge of interest in renewable energy projects, it is in everybody’s interest that these aspects are conducted to the highest standard.
