I am a retired Police Sergeant from Lothian and Borders Police. One of my roles in the police was Wildlife Crime Officer, a position I held for 15 years.
I have had a lifelong interest in birds and in particular in raptors and owls
I am a member of the Lothian and Borders Raptor Study Group and have a particular interest in Goshawks and am the Goshawk coordinator for the group.
As well as monitoring several Goshawk nest sites each year, I also monitor a large number of raptor nest sites including Peregrine, Kestrel, Merlin, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Osprey and Owls. Most of these nest sites have been found by myself through the searching suitable habitats over several years.
Being a member of local bird groups I have carried various bird surveys in south-east Scotland.
